Introduction
When searching for a men’s personal gym, the training program and pricing are important—but just as important is knowing who your trainer will be.
At Gran Gym, our female trainers provide one-on-one coaching primarily for men in their 30s and older, helping them build stronger, healthier, and more confident bodies.
In the first installment of our trainer introduction series, we’d like to introduce Trainer MIYU—her daily routine, eating habits, approach to maintaining her physique, and the values she brings to every training session.
About Trainer MIYU
Trainer MIYU has been working as a personal trainer for five years and holds the NSCA-CPT certification. Throughout her career, she has helped many clients improve both their fitness and eating habits.
Outside of work, she enjoys visiting saunas and traveling, valuing opportunities to relax and recharge both physically and mentally.
Her personal goal this year is to complete a half marathon. Rather than simply coaching others, she believes in continually challenging herself and leading by example.
MIYU’s Daily Routine
One thing MIYU values is keeping small daily habits in order.
Before leaving home each morning, she makes her bed and tidies her room.
She believes that when her surroundings are organized, her mind naturally feels more focused as well.
Before going to sleep, she reviews the schedule for the following day’s clients, thinking through each session, recalling previous workouts, and considering each client’s current condition.
She jokes that she dreams about her clients so often because of it! 😂
Afterward, she puts away her phone, lights incense, and finishes the day with stretching.
This quiet routine helps her transition from work mode into a relaxed state before bedtime.
What MIYU Eats
Her breakfast is almost always the same.
A typical breakfast includes:
- Rice
- Natto with kimchi
- Fish or eggs
- Miso soup
Keeping breakfast consistent allows her to meet her nutritional needs without having to think about it every morning.
Lunch is often eaten between client sessions.
When she’s busy, she frequently visits convenience stores, choosing meals such as:
- Two rice balls with grilled chicken
- A small bento box with a protein bar
Regardless of how busy the day is, she always prioritizes getting enough protein.
When she eats at home, lunch is usually similar to breakfast—a traditional Japanese meal centered around rice, protein, and soup.
Dinner varies from day to day, but she generally prefers a balanced set meal consisting of rice, a main dish, and soup.
When dining out, she doesn’t believe in excessive restriction.
She enjoys good food—and sometimes a few drinks—as well. 🍺
Instead of feeling guilty afterward, she simply balances things out the following day.
Rather than striving for perfection, she focuses on maintaining a healthy balance between enjoyment and discipline.
How She Maintains Her Physique
One habit MIYU prioritizes is increasing her daily activity level.
If her destination is within about a 40-minute walk, she’ll choose to walk instead of taking transportation whenever possible.
She views everyday movement as part of her fitness routine rather than relying solely on structured workouts.
She also avoids excessive dieting because she knows it can lead to binge eating.
Instead of forcing herself to eliminate enjoyable foods, she allows herself to enjoy meals out while maintaining healthy habits the rest of the time.
For her, long-term consistency always beats short-term restriction.
Her Message to Male Clients
The biggest message MIYU wants to share is simple:
Healthy eating shouldn’t feel stressful.
She knows this from personal experience.
In the past, she followed an overly restrictive low-carbohydrate diet that ultimately led to significant weight regain.
Because of that experience, she now believes in helping clients develop eating habits they can actually maintain for life rather than pursuing rapid results through unsustainable dieting.
Many people want immediate changes, but extreme restrictions rarely last.
At Gran Gym, nutrition coaching is tailored to each client’s lifestyle, helping them build healthy eating habits that reduce the risk of rebound weight gain.
MIYU’s Coaching Philosophy
During every session, MIYU asks herself two questions:
“What can this client learn today?”
“How can they leave smiling?”
For her, personal training is about much more than teaching exercises.
She focuses on:
- Proper movement patterns
- Muscle activation
- Posture
- Exercise technique
But she also adapts her communication style to match each client’s personality, lifestyle, and individual concerns.
Conversations during training often go beyond fitness.
Clients frequently talk with her about work, relationships, and everyday life.
One of her happiest moments as a trainer is hearing good news from clients who once came to her for relationship advice. 😂
At Gran Gym, the goal isn’t simply to build stronger bodies.
It’s to create an environment where clients become healthier, more confident, and more positive overall.
For Anyone Who Has Struggled to Stay Consistent
Many people have experienced:
- Giving up on training
- Regaining lost weight
- Feeling muscles but not knowing whether they’re exercising correctly
MIYU has worked with clients who had previously joined two different personal gyms but never managed to stick with either.
After joining Gran Gym, some of them have continued training for more than six months.
Others who struggled to feel the correct muscles working eventually transformed their physiques over the course of a year.
There are also clients who repeatedly lost and regained weight through restrictive diets but successfully built healthier, more sustainable bodies through gradual lifestyle improvements.
Building your body isn’t about willpower alone.
Success comes from finding an approach that suits you and creating an environment where fitness becomes enjoyable.
If you’d like to enjoy training, learn sustainable nutrition habits, and finally achieve lasting results, we’d love to welcome you to Gran Gym.
